SharkstoothHillSharktooth Hill

This months field trip is to Sharktooth Hill in Bakersfield. This is a pay site where you can dig up fossilized sharks teeth over 10 million years old. It’s been a couple years since we put a group together to visit this spot. Last time we went, everyone found a bunch of nice teeth and had a lot of fun.

Here is a link to the website for Ernst Quarries (aka Sharktooth Hill).

If we can get a group of 12 or more together, we will get the special rate of $50 per person for all day. Without the group of 12 or more, I believe the rates are $45 for half a day and $75 for the full day. It’s not cheap. But if you’ve never been or haven’t been in awhile, it’s definitely a cool experience to dig up teeth and bones from creatures that swam the oceans of Bakersfield, millions of years ago.

What to take with you to Sharkstooth Hill

If you are interested in going, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can start compiling an interest list. Hopefully we can get 12 or more, so we can get the special rate.
